Passed suddenly, at Guelph General Hospital on Thursday June 28, 2012. Elsie (Hunt) Pye in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Ralph Pye. Dear mother of Lenore Jones (Wayne). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Abigail and Kaitlyn of Guelph, Ontario. Loved sister of Raymond Hunt (Emma) of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Loved step-sister of Rhoda Brown (Ken) of Peterborough, Ontario and step-sister Marie Frampton (Wish) of New Brunswick. Loved step-sister of Gideon Samms of Torres Cover, Newfoundland. Predeceased by her parents George and Lillian Hunt her brother George Hunt, step brother Cyril Samms and step-brother Sandy Samms. Elsie loved to bake and decorate cakes, especially wedding cakes. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends and relatives in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 2:00 PM from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling Street. Interment to follow at the Church cemetery, Curling. Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. Memorial contributions to The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated. We were so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She will truly be missed by all of us, especially my mom who considered Elsie a special friend. We have all grown up together creating a bond with each other making us family. Your mom had a unique sense of humor creating many laughs for all of us. She was a special lady.
