It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Jennings announce her sudden passing on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter: Susan, Corner Brook; sister: Marilyn Simmons (Dale), Labrador City; brothers: Don Piercey, St. John’s, George Piercey (Lorraine), Victoria, BC and Gerry Piercey (Brenda), Middleton, NS; sister-in-law: Elaine Newhook (David), Cobourg, ON and brother-in-law: Jamey Jennings, Gander; as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in the deaf community. She was predeceased by her husband Maldwyn Jennings, 1988, parents: Lillian Piercey, 2008, Stanley Piercey, 1993, mother and father-in-law: Emma Jennings, 1988 and Wilfred Jennings, 1994; sister-in-law: Maxine Piercey, 2012. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday, 7-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11: a.m. to 12:45 a.m., from where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Newfoundland Chapter. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca
