SO SORRY TO HEAR OF NORMS PASSING, MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AT THIS TIME.
— LLOYD C BARRETT

So sorry to hear of Norm's passing. But after battling with sickness the last couple of years, it's a relief to know that he's now free of pain and at peace. Norm not only was my brother in law but also my best friend for the past 50 years. We've been through some rough times together and he's helped me through some difficult times while living in Happy Valley. It was always a pleasure to visit Norn whenever I went back and he always made it a point to come see me wheh he was on the Island. We enjoyed reminiscing and talking about the past. A couble of days before he passed away, he call from the hospital to talk to me. He said that he knew his time was close. He felt that everything was closing in and he wanted to say good-bye. It meant so much to me that even at the end, he taught of me and wanted to call me. I told him that I hoped to meet him in heaven some day and he assured me that he would. That's my prayer. I know you'll all miss him. May God give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. Remember the good times. That's all that counts. Blessings...Will & Elsie

Our hearts and prayers go out to you at the loss of Norm.I remember him when I was only a child growing up in Carbonear. When my father, Bill Merrigan, was alive Norm used to visit him whenever he came to Carbonear. Dad was always pleased that he took the time to stop in and see him here on the hill. I know that times like this are especially painful for those left behind. Hold on to your memories and may they help bring you peace. Frank,Carol Merrigan and family
