Edward Bennett

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Bennett announce his passing on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Western Memorial Hospital in his 84th year. He leaves to mourn with many happy memories his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Bennett, his sons Gerard (Loretta), Kenny (Sharon), Jerome (Doreen), Carl (Diane), all of Corner Brook, Gary (Karen) of Sherwood Park AB and Donald (Deborah) of Kitchener, ON, his daughter Madonna Matthews (Tim) of Corner Brook, 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandson all of whom loved and will miss him very much, sister Floss Abbott (Gord) of Corner Brook and Doreen Kinley (Smiley) of Calgary, AB, as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alice and William Bennett, brothers Raymond and Pat, sisters, Elsie, Mary and Rita, mother and father-in-law, Wallace and Clara Bennett, brothers in law Walter, Leo, and Charlie, sisters in law Annie, Bride, Hazel and his beloved grandson Philip who passed away in 1997. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street on Tuesday, 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, March 11th at 10:30 a.m.from Sacred heart Church, Curling Street Father Bernard Buckle officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Parish or a Charity of ones choice.
